CLASS UPDATES
- 3 Day 3’s – The children had fun creating their Father’s Day gifts & cards. We read “I Love Daddy” by Lizi Boyd & “I Love My Daddy by Sebastian Braun. We finished our flowers by gluing the stigma in the middle and adding leaves & the stem. We read “From Seed to Plant” by Gail Gibbons. The children are very excited about starting the dinosaur unit next week.
- 4 Day 3’s – Oh my, oh my, oh dinosaur! We began our dinosaur unit this week by painting Large dinosaurs, palm trees & a volcano to create a prehistoric mural in our classroom. We read many dinosaur books this week including “Dinosaur Bones” by Bob Barner. Our sand table became a dig site where we paleontologists discovered many dinosaur skeletons!
- 5 Day 4’s – We started off our week making our May flowers out of small pots & origami paper, they look great hanging next to our April umbrella’s! This week we released our butterflies in the tree. The children were amazed to them fly out of there houses! In the butterfly corner we used crayons to rub fantastic pictures of all different insects. We also learned some new games: butterfly dominoes & butterfly bingo, what fun! Each of us got to run on the playground with the butterfly costume, it was so much fun pretending to fly! We’ve been practicing our songs for Family Fun Day & can’t wait to share them on Sunday!
- Extended Day 4′s – This week was all about plants! Luckily, we were able to make it outside to plant before all the rain! We planted marigolds, sunflowers, tomatoes, and string beans! The kids had so much fun getting their thumbs dirty planting the seeds in the soil! In addition to planting, we discussed the parts of the plants as well as what plants need to grow! We used our plants stampers to help us label each part! Next week we will be learning about all the different insects that come out during the spring! Our letter of the week will be Q for Queen Bee! Have a good weekend!!
