Weekly Update 5/10/13


  • Tuesday, May 14th – Visit from Officer Tony
  • Friday, May 24th – Monday, May 27th – Pre-school closed for Memorial Day weekend. The  Daycare/Enrichment will be open on Friday, May 24th, please check backpacks for registration forms.
  •  Tuesday, June 11th– Last day of school
  • Wednesday, June 12th – Moving Up Ceremony for 4’s going to kindergarten
  • Thursday, June 13th  – School Breakfast, more information to follow


  • FAMILY FUN DAY-  It was a glorious day had by all! Thank you to all the teachers and families for their efforts in planting around the school. The caricatures were fabulous along with Mr. Puglesi’s original piece of art work! Our raffle sales  have funded our Nursery School Scholarship Fund. Thank you all very much for your support.
  • DAYCARE/ENRICHMENT – Our newly opened Early Childhood facility at 6 Manhasset Ave. is off to a great start! Programs available starting at 18 months. Please call for more information or a tour at 516-918-9319.
  • CAMP Spaces are still available for the 4 & 5 day programs.
  • Openings for September – Limited spaces still available in both Toddler and 3’s P.M. classes only. Call for more information.

  • TODDLERS 5-4-3-2-1 Counting backwards with Friends is fun!! Want to practice counting backwards with your toddler? Read Ten Little Ladybugs by Melanie Gerth with your son/daughter and share in the fun.
  • 3 Day 3’sWe finished our  rain & cloud unit. The children finger painted clouds using shaving cream, glue and black paint. All of them enjoyed getting messy. Hopefully next week the sun will shine for our flower unit.
  • 4 Day  3’s -Happy Mother’s Day! We hope you all enjoy your weekend with your family. Don’t forget to check backpacks for a special surprise Mommy’s. We continued working on dinosaurs this week!
  • 5 Day 4’s – We started another busy week by working on our May flowers, which are now hanging next to our April Umbrella’s. We continued our volcano unit by painting our dried models. Please watch for any “backpack eruptions!” The friends worked hard on our Mother’s Day gifts and cards and are proudly bringing them home this weekend. To all the moms, Happy Mother’s Day! Next week sharing letters: x and y. We look forward to another great week!
  • Extended Day 4’s – Hurrah!! We have completed all 26 letters of the alphabet. (Sharing boxes can now stay at home) Through games, journaling and cards, we will review all the letters we have completed. Our Spring Show was a huge success! The children did a wonderful job. Wishing all our mom’s a very Happy Mother’s Day.
