CLASS UPDATES

  • 3 Day 3’s –This week we continued with our Hanukkah and Thanksgiving units. We dipped Hanukkah candles in blue and white paint and rolled them onto construction paper. W read many Hanukkah stories. We made Thanksgiving centerpieces by decorating lunch bags and stuffing them with newspaper. They will make a great addition to your Thanksgiving table!
  • 4 Day  3’sEven though this was a shorter week for us, we had so many fun activities to keep us busy learning! To continue our Thanksgiving topic this week, we made handprint turkeys (which we covered with feathers) and shape turkeys to help us learn our basic shapes. We read “Sammy the Spider’s First Hanukkah” and counted candles to match with numbers. Please remember to send back phone conference sheets & a 4×6 picture of someone special to your child.
  • 5 Day 4’s – Our sparkly turkey feathers were used to create a very special bird. We painted wonderful art work using feathers. Our Friday snack was fabulous fruit salad. The Sinclair sisters came to our classroom in the morning to read for all of us. We created Dreidels from marble painted art work.
  • Extended Day 4′sThis week we began to discuss Thanksgiving! Our focus was on Pilgrims. We talked about the Mayflower, Atlantic Ocean and finished by creating our very own reenactment of how the pilgrims sailed to America. We also started talking about being thankful. By bringing in family photos, we were able to talk about why we are thankful for our family. The children loved drawing their photo into their journal. Remember “I” for show-n-tell!
