Weekly Update 4/5/13

TODDLERS

Spring has sprung in Toddlerland and we have been very busy. The flowers we painted and hung on our classroom tree make our room colorful and bright. We also created beautiful butterflies by using dot markers, crayons and glue. They are hanging from the ceiling, “Flying” around our room.

3 Day 3’s

We hope everyone had a nice vacation! The children were very happy to be back at school. We learned about Piet Mondrian, as we continue our Famous Artist’s Unit. Spring is finally here!! The children created tissue paper flowers to decorate our classroom tree.

4 Day 3’s

Welcome Back!! We hope everyone had a relaxing vacation. We jumped right back into our art unit this week. Just a reminder to send in some supplies for our next project: buttons, paper clips, a piece of a broken toy, etc. Thank you so much.

5 Day 4’s

This was R week in our class. We created very colorful rainbow ”scratch” art. Please use a penny to continue the art process. Our beans continued to grow & we plan to transplant them in the garden as soon as it warms up. The children learned a rainbow song-ask them to share it! They learned the Italian word for rainbow. Our forsythia bush is about to bloom and the children have all taken guesses regarding the flower color. The class quilt is almost ready to be hung in the room and poetry & cooking delicious pizza rounded out our short week.

EXTENDED DAY

Ask us all about Spring. We talked about how we see signs of Spring all around us. We began our class garden and made sunflowers. In honor of our 100th Day in Extended Day, we had a pizza party and special snack. We counted 10 pieces of 10 different snacks (10×10=100). We counted 100 steps up to the multi-purpose room.
